Art Development
Almost a month since this team was formed, and the art section isn’t finished yet, due to several problems with stacking and other tasks. Our calculations, for assets that are certain, only about 40% completed. The rest of it is still on construction (main background, user interface, detail object, traps, enemies), we are focusing on make the main character and a few tiles for the level, except the background.
We take from outside resources like free assets from itch.io. Until now, we still use “Braid” as a reference and a few games as references for the pixel model (tiles, structures, and backgrounds). There are six backgrounds that we need, there are spring season area, summer season area, winter season area, autumn season area, lab area (the first place of the story), and the last is the boss area. For the summer season area and spring season area, we are using outside resource as a temporary asset and may be become our asset if we don’t have enough time for this project. The asset is a forest pixel background, and few tiles (dirt, grass [for player movement area], water).
For the lab area, it is original from our creation in the art section of this team. There are twenty tiles that ready for use, ten for the lab area, and the half of it for the spring season area and the summer season area. After completing the character sprite, we will continue to make the tiles for five area with the background and other detail.
